This all-wheel drive armored combat vehicle features a combination of a high level of protection, powerful weapons, and excellent mobility, making it indispensable to Ukraine’s Armed Forces and National Guard. This coin symbolizes the importance and effectiveness of the Bucephalus BTR-4E in bolstering Ukraine’s defense capabilities, and recognizes the achievements of Ukrainian engineers in creating modern military equipment.

Obverse: against a smooth background, is a stylized image of a rearing horse modeled from armored plates that have been riveted together. The image of the horse makes an association with the legendary Bucephalus, the horse of Alexander the Great, symbolizing loyalty, unbridled will and fearlessness in the face of the enemy. To the right, against a matte background is Ukraine’s small coat of arms, under which are the legend УКРАЇНА (Ukraine), the coin’s face value 5, the graphic symbol of the hryvnia ?, and the coin’s issue year – 2024. Beneath, in the center, is the mint mark of the NBU’s Banknote Printing and Minting Works.

Reverse: depicts a modern BTR-4 Ukrainian armored personnel carrier, firing from the combat module with which these vehicles are equipped. Above is the legend БТР-4E (BTR-4E) executed in a style that is similar to that of the coin’s obverse – the letters and the number are made from riveted-together plates.
