Yevhen Konovalets<\/strong><\/p>\n

This coin celebrates Yevhen Konovalets, a military leader and statesperson who symbolizes the continuity of Ukrainian liberation movements. Konovalets was a colonel of the Ukrainian People`s Republic Army, the first commander of the Ukrainian Military Organization, the head of the Ukrainian Nationalist Leading Body, and the head of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists \u2013 a political movement that 1aimed to create an independent Ukrainian state in all ethnic Ukrainian lands. He transformed the Sich military formation into the regiment of the Sich Riflemen, which was the most organized and disciplined unit of the Ukrainian People`s Republic Army.<\/p>\n

Obverse: to the left is a guelder rose branch, against the backdrop of which is Ukraine`s small coat of arms (above), to the right of the coat of arms is the legend \u0423\u041a\u0420\u0410\u0407\u041d\u0410 (Ukraine); in the center, against a smooth background is a phaleristics sign in the form of a monogram consisting of two letters \u201c\u0421\u201d entwined with a red guelder rose branch \u2013 the Riflemen Council military decoration awarded by an advisory body under the Sich Riflemen commander Yevhen Konovalets in 1918 \u2013 1919; to the right of the decoration is the following quote by Konovalets: \u2026\u0411\u0423\u0414\u0415\u041c\u041e\/ \u041c\u0410\u0422\u0418 \u0421\u0418\u041b\u0423,\/ \u0422\u041e\u0414\u0406 \u0412\u0418\u0419\u0414\u0415\u041c\u041e\/ \u041f\u041e\u0411\u0406\u0414\u041d\u041e\/ \u0417 \u041d\u0410\u0419\u0413\u0406\u0420\u0428\u041e\u0413\u041e\/ \u041b\u0418\u0425\u041e\u041b\u0406\u0422\u0422\u042f\/ \u0406 \u0417\u0414\u041e\u0411\u0423\u0414\u0415\u041c\u041e\/ \u0412\u0421\u0415, \u0429\u041e \u041d\u0410\u041c\/ \u0422\u0420\u0415\u0411\u0410.
