Ukrainian \u201cBavovna.\u201d The Neptune<\/strong><\/p>\n

This coin celebrates the Ukrainian RK-360MC Neptune coastal missile system, which was a significant breakthrough for the domestic defense industry in the development and production of modern weapons. It not only defeated one of the largest ships of the russian Navy in the first months of the full-scale invasion, but also wrote itself into the history of Ukrainian defense forever. The sinking of the ship, the moskva missile cruiser, is yet another proof that Ukrainian “cotton” will always be accurate. (\u201cCotton\u201d or \u201cbavovna\u201d in Ukrainian, is a word used informally or jokingly in Ukraine to refer to explosions caused by Ukrainian weapons strikes on Russian targets. It came into use due to the similarity between Russian word, khlopok, meaning \u201ca small bang,\u201d and khlopok, meaning \u201ccotton.\u201d Though pronounced differently in Russian, the two words are spelled the same, and \u201ckhlopok\u201d is frequently mistranslated by automatic translation systems into \u201cbavovna\u201d in Ukrainian.)<\/p>\n

Obverse: there is a stylized image of the moscow missile cruiser with a hole in the hull, sunk thanks to the skill of Ukrainian military by R-360 Neptune anti-ship missiles. The \u201cinvulnerable\u201d flagship of the russian Black Sea Fleet is stylized as a children\u2019s paper ship. This especially contrasts with the myth of the ship\u2019s power based on its size and weapons. The ship\u2019s deckhouse depicts the outline of the kremlin tower with the broken teeth of the kremlin wall, symbolizing the collapse of russia\u2019s imperial ambitions. Above, to the left, against a smooth background are the coin\u2019s face value 5 and the graphic symbol of the hryvnia; there are also the coin\u2019s issue year (placed vertically), Ukraine\u2019s small coat of arms, and the vertical legend \u0423\u041a\u0420\u0410\u0407\u041d\u0410 (Ukraine); beneath, to the left, is the mint mark of the NBU\u2019s Banknote Printing and Minting Works.<\/p>\n

Reverse: There is a Neptune coastal mobile missile system at the moment of missile launch. This system is in service with the Ukrainian Navy, as indicated by the emblem in the upper left. Against a smooth background is the stylized trident of Neptune, the god of the seas, symbolizing the indomitable Ukrainian spirit that deftly pierces enemy targets.
