Coin Ukraine 2023 #08 ‘Ukraine’s Military Intelligence’

This coin celebrates Ukraine’s military intelligence – a high-tech and highly intellectual component of Ukraine’s security and defense forces, which is successfully defending the national interests of Ukraine. On all sections of the front and in the enemy’s rear, brave and self-sacrificing intelligence officers act professionally, striking terror into the enemy, and step by step, together with other units of the defense forces, liberating Ukrainian territories and bringing Ukraine’s victory closer.

Obverse: in the center, on a matte background, is the emblem of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry; to the left of the emblem is Ukraine’s small coat of arms; to the right of the emblem are the coin’s face value 5 and the graphic symbol of the hryvnia; above is the semi-circular legend УКРАЇНА (Ukraine); beneath is the legend: 2023/ГОЛОВНЕ УПРАВЛІННЯ РОЗВІДКИ (2023/Main Intelligence Directorate); to the left of the emblem is the mint mark of the NBU’s Banknote Printing and Minting Works.

Reverse: there are the circular legend: ВОЄННА РОЗВІДКА УКРАЇНИ (Ukraine’s Military Intelligence) and the slogan of military intelligence officers in Latin: SAPIENS DOMINABITUR ASTRIS (a wise person will rule over the stars); in the center, against the backdrop of the surface of the globe is an owl that pierces an outline of the aggressor country with a sword (Ukraine’s small coat of arms is depicted on the hilt of the sword).
