Ukrainian “Bavovna.” The Leleka-100

This coin celebrates the Leleka-100 multi-purpose unmanned aerial vehicle. Developed by the Ukrainian company DeViRo, it is a reliable defender of the Ukrainian skies, performing key military intelligence tasks and providing effective support for defense operations. In 2021, by order of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, the Leleka 100 UAV officially came into service. Since then, it has demonstrated impressive effectiveness in combat conditions, becoming an indispensable tool for aerial reconnaissance and artillery fire adjustment.

Obverse: there is a stylized image from the flight control monitor of the Leleka-100 drone, which shows detected enemy targets – tanks – on steppeland roads. In the center is the outline of the drone, which embodies technological progress and Ukraine’s innovative potential. Beneath, to the left, against a smooth background is Ukraine’s small coat of arms; to the right are the coin’s face value 5 and the graphic symbol of the hryvnia; under the drone, in the center, are the legend УКРАЇНА (Ukraine), the coin’s issue year 2024, and the mint mark of the NBU’s Banknote Printing and Minting Works.

Reverse: depicts the reconnaissance drone in flight. Above it is a stylized outline of a stork, symbolizing the peace and tranquility provided by the vigilance of the Leleka-100. The lower part of the composition shows a view of the earth’s surface with a stylized depiction of the area under observation by the drone, representing strategic vision and planning. The stylized vertical and horizontal scales symbolize the drone’s ability to determine target coordinates and adjust artillery fire. Beneath, to the left, parallel to the drone, is the legend ЛЕЛЕКА-100 (Leleka-100).
