The State Special Transport Service

This coin celebrates the State Special Transport Service (the Transport Service), a military formation that ensures the stability of the country’s transport system in peacetime and in special periods. The Transport Service, which is part of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, has been bravely holding the transportation front since the first days of russia’s full-scale invasion. The task of Transport Service personnel is not only to ensure the smooth operation of transport in the rear, but also to demine de-occupied territories, build fortifications, protect critical infrastructure, and restore it. Their work brings our common victory closer!

Obverse: above is Ukraine’s small coat of arms; in the center, surrounded by an old Rus ornament is the following semicircular legend: УКРАЇНА / 10 / ГРИВЕНЬ (Ukraine/10/hryvnias); against the backdrop of the ornament are the coins’ issue year – 2024 (beneath), and the mint mark of the NBU’s Banknote Printing and Minting Works (to the right).

Reverse: there are the following circular legends: ДЕРЖАВНА СПЕЦІАЛЬНА СЛУЖБА ТРАНСПОРТУ (STATE SPECIAL TRANSPORT SERVICE) and the slogan of the Transport Service servicemen – НЕЗЛАМНІ ДУХОМ ВІДНОВЛЯТЬ УКРАЇНУ! (UNBROKEN IN SPIRIT WILL RESTORE UKRAINE!). In the center of the composition, the emblem of the Transport Service is depicted in relief. The central element of the emblem is a trident, under which is a winged wheel of Mercury, which was previously used as the emblem of the Ministry of Roads of the Ukrainian People’s Republic. This symbolizes the heritage of national traditions and the specifics of the Transport Service. In the background, a bridge is schematically depicted, symbolizing Ukraine’s transport infrastructure and the main activity of the Transport Service, which is the construction and restoration of critical and transport infrastructure.
